Describe the project before naming the battery
State whether the project is for backup, peak management, self-consumption, an off-grid application or another use case. Include site conditions, expected operating profile, local grid information and the desired system boundary when known.
The same nominal capacity can support different project designs. A clear application brief helps suppliers identify which technical questions remain open before preparing a quotation.
Request the data needed for comparison
Ask for usable and nominal energy definitions, power limits, operating temperature, enclosure assumptions, communication interfaces, protection functions, installation conditions and maintenance requirements for the proposed configuration.
Request clarification on test conditions and measurement points. Figures without their test context are difficult to compare and should not be reused as generalized performance claims.
Confirm safety and documentation scope
The RFQ should identify the destination market and request the applicable safety, transport, installation and grid-interface documentation for the exact configuration. The buyer should verify document scope with qualified professionals before commissioning a system.
Where a project requires integration with an energy management system or inverter, include interface requirements and responsibility boundaries. These details can materially change engineering work and delivery planning.
Make commercial assumptions explicit
Separate equipment, integration, packaging, testing, commissioning, spare parts and logistics in the inquiry. State the desired quantity, delivery location, requested Incoterm and whether a site survey or technical clarification is expected.
There is no universal after-sales term, cycle-life promise, order threshold or delivery timing for every storage project. These items must be confirmed for the selected configuration, destination and contract scope.
